“NEVOOAH WAS GIVEN TO SHOYTIM”: RAV BARON RAMARKS ABOUT THOSE WHO FORESAW ELECTION OUTCOME
One of the great Sfardi Poskim R’ Tzion Baron commented on the elections: Those foretelling the outcome, “Nevooah was given to shoytim” he also shared which Bracha to make over Clinton,Trump.

As the votes were coming in, R’ Tzion Baron, who is one of the leading Sefardi Poskim in Israel commented about those who were foretelling the election outcome, saying “Nevooah was given to shoytim”. It is considered rare for the Rav to comment in public about elections. The Rav made his remarks in a shiur that he delivered last night in Bet Shemesh.
Rav Baron was commenting in response to a couple of contradictory reports, that were being circulated on social media declaring the election results in the name of certain Mekoobalim. Some were foretelling a clear victory for Trump, while others declared a landslide win for Hillary.
Reacting to the contradictory reports with total disregard, the Rav said “their words are less then air”. Then he quoted the Gemara in Baba Basra that states, from the day the Beis Hamikdash was destroyed Nevooah was given to Shoytim and Ketanim.
It became known to Chadrei Chareidim- Further commenting about the elections, the Rav added. “There is a well known the saying from the late maggid, R’ Yankel Galinski Z’’L. When one recites the Beracha of shelo osani goy, he should not only have in mind the local Arab from the shuk, that’s obvious. Rather he should even have in mind the president of the United States.” The Rav finished off by saying “Have in mind whoever gets elected when you recite the Bracha of Shelo osani goy tomorrow”.
