New vice president at Agudath Israel of America: Shlomo Werdyger

A senior appointment in Agudath Israel of America: The association announced on Friday the appointment of veteran activist Rabbi Shlomo Werdyger, a leading U.S. Gur Hossid, to the appointment of vice president, replacing Rabbi Gedaliah Weinberger, who served as vice president of the association for six years.
Rabbi Shlomo Werdyger, a well known chessed personality, was the one who took care of financing the grandiose event of Siyum Hashas held by Agudath Israel of America, in which 90 thousand people took part. Besides, for years Werdyger raised funds for various projects of the association in America .
Rabbi Chaim David Zvibel, Acting President of Agudath Israel of America, said that Werdyger has a glorious record of achievement, and accepted by all levels of the haredi public in the world. According to him, over the years Werdyger has become a confidant of the great rabbis and rebbes whose doors of their homes are open to him at any time, and is expected to advance the economic condition of the Association, so that it can continue its many important projects for all of Klal Yisrael.
The new vice president said with his appointment, that he is going to be the executive arm of the Council of Torah Sages of America, and he undertakes to abide by them even if he thinks otherwise. According to senior politicians in the Association, Werdyger hinted that he undertakes to accept the opinion of the Council of Torah Sages of America, even if it is different or contrary to the opinion of the Gerrer Rebbe – to whose chassidus he belongs.
