Paris: Mentally ill Iranian stabbed a Rabbi and son

A Rabbi and his son were attacked this morning (Tuesday) with a knife when they left the synagogue in the Ninth Quarter in Paris.

Rabbi, 49, was wounded slightly in the neck, and also his 17 year old son was wounded in the neck.

Circumstances of the attack are still unknown. Police checks suspicions that the incident took place on anti-Semitic background. According to eyewitnesses, they took control of the attacker and held him until the police arrived.

It turned out that the attacker who was arrested by the police is a person born in Tehran but is not known to the authorities.

According to French - Jews news site reporting JSS News shows that the attacker entered the synagogue, shouted "Allahu Akbar" and began to attack the rabbi and his son. The website also reported that police sources said the Iranian attacker, 28 and unstable, fled on April 16, from a psychiatric hospital.

According to the report, the attacker was dressed in a mental hospital uniform from Lyon.

This is not the first attack against Jews in recent times. October 2012 vandals shot blanks at a synagogue in Argent, city close to Paris, the anonymous shot the car which slowed near the building, and quickly fled.
