A hit on eBay: selling of Olam Haba for a dollar
American yeshiva boy who became an atheist, offered his 'world to come' on the popular site for sale at a starting price of 99 cents • which amount did he reach? • And why was the sale canceled?

Ari Mandel, a Jewish American, decided to sell on the Ebay sales site - his place in Olam Haba. The starting price was 99 cents and climbed up to $ 100,000 until the site administrators decided to stop the sale.
Mendel studied in a yeshiva and veered off the road. The explanation given for the sale of "the product" he wrote that he was educated in a yeshiva, did quite a few commandments and good deeds, veered off the road and yet he thinks that his place is in Paradise and that he has what to offer.
"I swerved, and I did a small amount of offenses", opens Mendel. "But I also did quite a few good deeds during my life. I was a good student all the yeshiva, I did not break any halacha and all the customs until my early 20s," he wrote.
"Even now that I'm an atheist, I do not do idol worship. I served in the army, I explained the Jewish laws to the gentiles, and saved lives after the earthquake in Haiti. Though they are not Jews, but it sure is worth something."
Here Mendel publishes what he wants to sell: "So, I think my part in the next world is definitely worth a penny. Do not be stingy Jews, remember, you offer the price for eternal life in Paradise.
"The buyer will receive a signed contract guaranteeing my time in paradise and I promise I will not be a greater offense than I am now, and if I repent I will pay a fair price for the value of the parts in the next world."
Money, unfortunately, will not come. Shortly after the site management lowered the argument with an ad which reads: "World to come is not a tangible object, and therefore cannot be sold."
Mandel said it "this is proof that the World to come is fake or EBay is a mafia of atheists."
