So far, in recent years, the ultra-Orthodox soldiers were exempt from wearing IDF uniforms in Haredi neighborhoods, but recently the IDF called out for a special operation, which eliminated these exempted, only soldiers who insist, can request special permission from their commanders, to walk around without uniforms in their place of residence.

Rabbi Moshe Zeev Zargar, one of the Satmar rabbis, decided to call out a sharp order to avoid the phenomenon of soldiers in uniform in the ultra-Orthodox neighborhoods. Religious ruling issued in his name, Rabbi Zargar called to eliminate any soldier in uniform from the Orthodox neighborhoods or Beit Midrash.

"These days the army went out with a clothing mission. Military police came to the Ultra Orthodox neighborhoods to catch haredi soldiers (Chardakim in our language) who are not wearing uniform within the neighborhood and to fine them for that. Purpose of the operation is to transmit the message that military service has become the norm, so the army wants that more soldiers will wear uniform. Until today it was an embarrassment to come in to uniform to the Beit Midrash."

According to Rabbi Zargar, "the biggest profit for them is that more Jews and more Jews will go with military clothes, and that will cool the resistance to this, and that is what they are working for now." Therefore they Rabbi ordered: "If a Jew enters with such clothing to the Beit Midrash, upon his entrance, we should yell at him 'tamay get out!' Since these clothes are impure when coming into contact with them. One must not daven in such clothes. These clothes proclaim: heresy."

If you wonder what Rabbi Zargar recommend if the soldier refuses to leave the shil, "should be perceived and thrown out." Why? Because it is impossible otherwise to care for our descendants." He added: "If we see a young man arguing with those, thinking he is smart enough and will affect him, to approach him and tell him, 'Leave the sheigetz."
