Two members of the City Council Orthodox Ian Scherer and Leib Daum, offered to members of the Muslim Council help from the Shomrim organization operating in the Jewish neighborhood.
"It's only natural to want to help them protect the mosques," Scherer said to the newspaper.
First meeting this week, council members participated alongside Muslim council members and leaders of the Shomrim and the possibility of joint patrolling in the area.
"This is the beginning of developing strong friendship and cooperation among the Muslim community and orthodox community in Stamford Hill," said participants.
