During Tuesday night Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi held talks with U.S. President Barack Obama. The White House reported that it was made clear to Morsey that the U.S. sees democracy in Egypt as a supreme value and asks him to respond to the demands raised by protesters.

However, Washington stressed that they do not support any specific political party or group in Egypt. "President Obama urged President Morsi to take steps to respond to the demands of the protesters, and told him that the current crisis can be resolved only through dialogue process," the White House said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohammed Kamel Amro, that he resigns and became the sixth minister to resign from Hisham Qandil's government since the beginning of the protests in Egypt. In addition former presidential adviser on military affairs to Morsi, former Chief of Staff Sami Anan, resigned too.

Tonight it was also reported that Morsi rejected the ultimatum set by his army, that it will intervene in the country within 48 hours if he did not comply with the requirements of the people. A communiqué issued by the presidential palace in Cairo last night reported that Morsi has his own plan for national reconciliation between all forces including social and political national, regardless of the army's announcement.

As stated by the president's office, "the message posted by the armed forces did not reach the president directly, and he believes that some of the things said in the message are causing confusion and tension on the national scene."

The statement further noted: "Egypt's civilian democracy, is one of the most important achievements of the grand revolution on January 25. We will absolutely not allow Egypt to return back and live under conditions dictated by the army. We have chosen the democratic path as the only solution in Egypt, and this is the safest way to manage our differences."
