Summer holidays in the United States are only at the start, but it already claims victims: in Camp Agudah in the State of Michigan, Ayala Shulman a"h, 18, the daughter of Rabbi Ari Shulman of Chicago, was killed.
The girl was injured on Thursday at the entrance to the summer camp, from a passing vehicle. She was taken to hospital in critical condition and on Friday returned her soul to its Creator.
The funeral will be held tonight (Saturday night, New York City time), and tomorrow her coffin will arrive in Israel. She will be buried in the cemetery in Beit Shemesh.
On Friday a boy drowned in Camp Karlin - Stolin in Highland. He was rushed to hospital in serious condition.
In addition another 8 year old boy drowned in the pool of Bungalow Union of Satmar. Rescue volunteers were able to regain a pulse. A helicopter which landed in a schoolyard in Monticello flew the child to the trauma center at a local hospital, in a serious condition, sedated and anesthetized.
The public is asked to daven for Yechiel ben Esther Perl and for Mordechai ben Sara Silka for refuah sheleima.
