Hagaon R' Ovadia Yosef continues to work vigorously for the election of his son to the office of Sephardic Chief Rabbi: during the last hour he met with a host of Chabad rabbis, all members of the electoral body, and asked them to vote for his son Rabbi Yitzchak for the post of Chief Sephardi Rabbi.
The meeting, which was first reported on COL-Chabad, was coordinated by the Secretary of Harav Ovadia, Rav Amir Crispell who phoned Chabad rabbis and invited them to the meeting.
At the center of the meeting was the subject of the Chief Rabbinate, and Harav Ovadia's request was one: "Make every effort to support my son Yitzchak and Harav Lau for chief rabbis."
Harav Ovadia included in the request for support Rabbi David Lau, supported by R' Aharon Leib Steinman for position of chief rabbi. Earlier, Hagry"l Steinman asked MKs of Degel Hatorah to act for the election of Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef too.
