Chief legal adviser responded today (Tuesday) to Attorney Aaron Margalit's plea, who requested to disqualify Hgr"y Yosef running for candidate of Rishon Lezion, due to defects in the proceeding of the fitness certificate renewal for rabbi in his city.
Margalit argued that innovation was illegal and not with the participation of most of the members of the Council and without Rabbis - as required by law.
In his response, the attorney Yaron Katan explained that since the chief rabbis could not perform as well as other council members - it is right in what not approved the renewal, in addition, the legal advisor explained the difference between the requirements for granting certificate of fitness, and the case of Hgr"y Yosef, where it was only necessary to renew an existing fitness.
