Camp Satmar: during an elephant show police appeared

Camp of Satmar in Spring Valley, NY, was forced to stop an elephant show, due to police demand.

Hundreds of children staying at the summer camp watched an elephant show at the circus brought to the school grounds as part of daily entertainment for children.

Following administrative requirements of the camp they prepared a modest elephant show performance which matches the spirit of the place, and every child was assured riding an elephant.

But the joy did not last long: half an hour after the arrival of the elephants the police arrived and required the administration "to close the celebration" and remove the elephants from the school grounds.

The police claimed that the school violated the city law prohibiting animal into the school area.

School argues that this is yet another denunciation of a local source, trying to harm the proper activity of the Satmar Talmud Torah.
