Rabbinate warns: "Do not eat the raspberry fruit"
Laboratory tests conducted by a Chief Rabbinate's kashrus, finds raspberries are infected with insects, and difficult to clean

Phenomenon of 'self picking' accelerated recently when plantation owners in towns and villages, invite the general public to come and savor the work of harvesting. The orchards there are those of raspberries.
Recently organizers of a big event wanted to hand out raspberry fruit to some participants. Organizers asked Rabbinate to check the fruit, to make sure it is kosher to eat.
Laboratory testing indicated that the fruit berry is infected and almost cannot eat it without worms.
Rabbi Yehoshua Fraiman noted that the test was done in 200 grams of fruit, including six worms were found - very small insects the size of a half inch to 4 mm.
It turns out that the black and red raspberries are problematic because of the structure of the fruit, into which worms enter and under normal conditions they do not leave the fruit.
Rabbi Freiman said that it is recommended to soak the raspberries in the water and test the water by filtering on the network and if the bugs are discovered, eating the fruit is forbidden.
