Tax inspectors attacked - and barricaded themselves in Bnos Yerushalayim

This morning (Wednesday) around 9:00am, inspectors from the Tax Authority arrived at the Bnos Yerushalayim school on Baharan Street in the neighborhood of Mea Shearim in Jerusalem.

Following the arrival of the inspectors, residents of the neighborhood began to gather. The IRS staff who felt threatened, alerted other police forces and meanwhile the inspectors were concentrated in one of the classes, and the arrival of larger police forces, they were rescued, while according to the report - a woman from the place was detained for questioning.

The Tax Authority refused at this stage to relate to the case, but according to the evaluation of employees at the place, it is suspected of employing teachers and workers
without legal registration or failure to register receipt of funds .

According to information obtained by Behadrey Haredim, the detainee is in her 50s , and was interrogated at the offices of the IRS on Kanfei Nesharim Street in Jerusalem, and was released after interrogation.

As recalled, a year ago – on the twenty-seventh of Cheshvan, the Fraud Division investigators of the Israel Police, in cooperation with investigators of income tax of Jerusalem – raided the apartments of three members of a fictitious organization called Bnos Yerushalayim - Moshe Fund. Allegedly, they defrauded the Ministry of Education by tens of millions of shekels in recent years, using a fictitious nonprofit organization they established. After two weeks of detention of suspects which was extended several times, they were released under restrictive conditions.
