Police: "This is a dangerous man - attacked"

"This is a man that according to our impression is not of sound mind, according to the nature of his testimony in the investigation, responses to his behavior, but we are not doctors and therefore sent to psychiatric observation," said Commander Shimon Lavi, commander of the Dan region in the Israel Police, who took the role at B'Chadrei Charedim for the attack against Hgray"l Steinman.

"This is a serious incident, the police are determined to treat it seriously," said Commander Lavi. "This is a dangerous man who attacked, and if he is sane his place behind bars."
"During his arrest, he assaulted police officers, and used reasonable use of force to control. Investigation he collaborated, and admitted he broke into the house and attacked the rabbi."
Since the attack, Commander Shimon Lavi visited the rabbi several times, and the situation he says: "I spoke with the rabbi, his medical condition is good, and I wish him much health."

"At this point, it seems that he acted independently but all leads are tested. Investigation was assigned to the Police crime department of the Dan region, and the intention is to fully extract at the maximum speed.
