Fire in Northern Israel: An Israeli soldier wounded by fire which leaked from Syria
Fierce battles take place in Quneitra on the Israeli-Syrian border • An IDF soldier was wounded by mild weapons and taken to hospital

IDF soldier injured today (Monday) afternoon, in the Quneitra border between Israel and Syria, as a result of a small arms fired. The soldier's condition is mild and he was evacuated for medical treatment to hospital.
IDF soldiers are looking into the possibility that the fire leaked from battle in Syria.
Dr. Hussein Amr, chief of emergency medicine at Ziv Hospital, says that the wounded soldier came with the entrance wound to his left thigh and exit wound. Following initial treatment the wound will be treated in the operating room, and additional testing for internal bleeding in the thigh .
"Fortunately the bullet did not hit the soldier actually or major blood vessels. Following treatment in the operating room the soldier will be admitted for observation at the orthopedics. We wish him a speedy recovery," said Dr. Amer
On Thursday last week, a mortar shell was fired from Syrian territory and landed in Golan Regional Council.
In response, the IDF attacked a firing position of the Syrian army. Identified for pinpoint targeting.
Near Israel and Syria border, south of Quneitra, there is fighting between the rebels and the broad Assad government.
In recent weeks, the members of a radical Islamic organization, al-sawn Jabhat which is a branch of al-Qaeda, occupy the area of Quneitra, including the border crossing with Israel.
A senior IDF officer, who serves in the Golan Heights, said that although the rebel organization is very close to the border fence, the Northern Command did not believe that the goal is to come to Israel.
IDF closely monitor developments. But the army "does not currently recognize the trend of fighting against Israel," stressed the official.
It is estimated that between 1,500 and 2,000 fighters belonging to the rebel battalions are now in the border with Israel. ISIS terrorist organizations, however, are not found in the Gaza Golan Heights, near the border.
