"As soon as we heard the shots and began pursuit of the shooters," he said, "were all school principals Jews and others teaching a curfew, we were asked to immediately close the school gates the doors and windows of the classrooms and not enter or leave. Ottawa is not a large town and Institutions, homes and Parliament are all a short distance from the attack.
"The police request not to leave the house for fear that the terrorists are still on the ground, people were not standing near windows or on rooftops, overhead circled constantly helicopters, police cars everywhere, it was a feeling of war," recalls Biarsky, and adds, "At one point we received a permit to free the children home from school, but only in the car.
