Sefer Torah and Mezuzos stolen and thrown to street

Drama in Crown Heights: a bag with a Torah scroll, Mezuzahs and Tefillin, were stolen and found after a while thrown in the area.

A local resident who arrived from Montreal began to unload the car and left two suitcases next to the car in order to return and take them.

The suitcases contained a Sefer Torah, 100 Mezuzahs and Tefillin worth fifty thousand dollars.

These were to be given to a Chabad emissary who arrived at the Shluchim conference held this week in Crown Heights.

The car owner hurried to call 'Hashomrim' who arrived with reinforcements, after checking security cameras and noting the direction in which the robber fled, Hashomrim members were quick to scan the streets. After 45 minutes one of the volunteers who arrived on Lincoln Place Street noticed the Sefer Torah next to Mezuzahs and Tefillin lying on the sidewalk.

It turned out that the thief emptied the bags on the sidewalk to find valuables, and when he discovered the contents he left it on the sidewalk. Everything was collected and returned to the owner of the goods, a complaint was filed with the police.
