Deri: "can't guarantee what will happen after elections"

Are the Haredim on the way to the coalition? Tonight (Saturday night) Shas Chairman MK Aryeh Deri was interviewed on News 2 and announced, "I'm not ready to commit to what will be after the elections."

Deri added: "I told the prime minister that I will not go into his unity government, we want an election, if he is going with us to elections, I can make an agreement with him: The agreement is that if he comes to elections, we undertake not to replace this government with no-confidence tricks or other tricks, we will be faithful to him until the elections."

Deri explained that the haredi parties are not involved in the current coalition crisis. According to Deri, those involved in the crisis are members of the coalition. "The government excluded the Haredim, it's been a fairly short time, and while Netanyahu runs the government, his coalition partners were trying to overthrow him and replace the government".

To the question whether was offered an alternative government headed by opposition leader Yitzhak Herzog, Deri said no. "Suddenly, the haredim are good for a center-left government? I told those who tried to convince me that an alternative government will be established only after elelctions."

Deri once again presented the Shas Party's platform to enter the new government. "I want the next coalition to have a social government. It's time to take care of poverty. I set two conditions – whoever comes with me, I'm going with him: NIS 30 minimum wage and lowering VAT, not on housing but on basic commodities. It's time for people to earn a decent living. Those who come towards us in both of these issues, are welcome".
