Givat Mordechai celebrated with the Gross couple, who lost their two daughters a year ago, and this morning made a Bris for their son

"Ve'yikare shmo beYisrael": Yehonatan Eliezer Gross

Exactly on the anniversary of the tragedy – a Bris Milah in the Gross Family: a Bris was held this afternoon (Monday) for the son of Shimon and Michal Gross, in the shull in Givat Mordechai, Jerusalem.

The Bris was attended by Hagaon Rabbi Eliezer Yehuda Finkel, Rosh Yeshiva of Mir - where the father Rabbi Shimon Ozer Gross learns, Rabbi Yitzhak Ezrachi Rosh Yeshiva of Mir, and Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat.

Hagaon Rabbi Azriel Auerbach, rabbi of the Bayit Vegan neighborhood, was Sandak, while the Mayor was "mehasandak".

After the Bris he was given the name Yehonathan Eliezer n"y.

In his drosha at the seudah of the Bris, the father noted the date of the Bris which occurred exactly 12 months from the date of death of the girls, explaining the meaning of the name: Yehonathan is - Hashem gave, and Eliezer is the G-d of my father helped me. And by hint: the initials of Eliezer Yehonathan are aleph and yud as in Avigail and Yael, of blessed memory.

Mayor Barkat said, "Everyone is moved by the strength of mind of Michal and Shimi Gross, who clung to life and exactly a year after the terrible tragedy which overcame them, were privileged to have a new baby. Mazal Tov to Yehonathan Eliezer and the dear parents and much happiness and joy."

As recalled, a year ago the parents faced a tragic disaster, when they lost their two daughters - Avigail and Yael Gross a"h – in the harsh pesticide disaster. The boys Rephael Yitzchak Izik and Chaim Michael Shlomo who were seriously wounded, were released from the Schneider hospital a month later.
