Rabbi Yeshayahu Pinto spiritual leader of the community of Shuvu Yisrael, passed yesterday (Tuesday) surgery to remove a malignant tumor from his brain at the Cornell Hospital in New York.

After the surgery he was transferred under anesthesia for continued medical treatment. Hundreds of devotees waited during the operation at the hospital campus, waiting for good news. In a couple more days doctors will be able to know if the operation was successful or unsuccessful.

This is a second surgery since last month. The Shuvu Yisrael community continues to call for prayers for his recovery and increase the full and rapid recovery of Pinto.

Tomorrow (Thursday), a hearing is scheduled in the Tel Aviv District Court, in which the Rabbi is expected to admit during a plea agreement, of bribery of Brigadier General Ephraim Bracha, offering bribes and obstruction of justice.

Because of his medical condition, last week his lawyers asked to postpone again the arraignment in the case by a month, the prosecution sought medical documents which are indicative of the condition, and they were submitted. But the document were not enough for them.

By agreement of the parties filed an application before the court, which rejected the request and said that the decision by the rabbi did not present official medical documents as a serious medical condition. In addition, the city court that the application was submitted too late - and the hearing will take place as planned tomorrow, probably behind closed doors, without the presence of the rabbi.

As a result, the rabbi's lawyers contacted with an urgent request, to discuss the rejection of legal proceedings and the appointment of qualified health and accepted by the court to examine medical documents filed in the name of Rabbi and transferred to the prosecution to give a medical opinion that will be agreed upon by the parties.

Six months delayed arraignment against the rabbi. When first it was a result of two petitions filed against the plea bargain agreements signed by the prosecutor's office with the rabbi. Petition of the Movement for Quality Government against the arrangement itself, and second, filed by Ometz movement, sought to investigate the head of the National Fraud Squad Commander Ephraim Bracha. Then, at the request and with the consent of the rabbi's attorneys prosecution deferred the discussion repeatedly.
