Police raided 'Be'er Miriam'; Aharon Ramati arrested

This morning (Sunday) an integrated enforcement campaign began, led by Jerusalem police on suspicion of illegal activity at the Midrasha of 'Be'er Miriam'. Police arrested a number of girls staying there, Aharon Ramati was not in the institution and was arrested a short time later in Jerusalem.

In recent months an investigation has been underway by the fraud unit of the Jerusalem Police against the Be'er Miriam institution, following complaints concerning the suspected commitment of criminal and economic offenses at the place.

Jerusalem police decided to establish a special investigative team by the regional fraud unit in which all care and law enforcement officials are part, as well as representatives of the municipality, and in which suspected acts of criminal economic offenses are checked, as well as in social welfare and safety, public health and compliance with the Ministry of Education.

As part of the special investigation team, and according to a court order, an investigation team led by the head of the Jerusalem police fraud unit superintendent Isaac Simon, arrived this morning together with all parties involved in the school building activities and buildings belonging to the school.

As stated, the team was accompanied by representatives of all the emergency agencies, representatives of the Jerusalem income tax investigations, Social Security, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Social Affairs and enforcement authority of the Ministry of Justice and municipal officials. During the raid, each of the entities performed a parallel search and examination against offenses.

An examination of the gas company discovered a pirated gas connection. The gas company is currently cutting off the gas cylinders for the security of tenants and nearby structures.

Fraud investigators seized evidence in the apartments they entered, and detained for questioning so far 6 adult girls suspected of fraud.
