Samua village: cache of arsenal and weapons was caught

Last night (Saturday night) fighters of the South Central Unit Police activity embarked on a complex activity in the village of Samua, which is the southern Hebron hills, after broad intelligence activity carried out by fighters, they knew where the key suspect in the trade in arms and weapons is found.

As part of a massive operation underway to eradicate weapons and illegal weapons, a senior in the squad was captured last night, who allegedly conducted weapons trafficking in the South.

The fighters arrived at night in cooperation with the IDF at the village ready for any scenario that might surprise them during the arrest, after arriving at the house and finished securing the area, they came to carry out the arrest and search, during the search of his home they found no fewer than four hidden weapons, each of the weapons was found concealed in a different place in order to make it difficult to locate by fighters.

An M16 type weapon was found hidden below the sofa cushions, and later a sniper weapon was found stashed behind a closet and with a telescopic sight, as well as crates of ammunition which were also found with a large number of bullets that are also suitable for rifles and pistols.

This seize joins a persistent struggle waged by the Israeli police with all its units to eradicate possession of illegal weapons. Only three weeks ago in the same village another operation of the unit was carried out, in which fighters arrested three suspects and seized two weapons.

"This is a determined and uncompromising struggle to end the possession of illegal weapons whose purpose is unclear and at times the background turns out criminal but in many cases, a strenuous investigation shows that the weapons were intended for a nationalistic motivated attack, and the arrest of suspects is an important step of thwarting the action in which criminals have not yet achieved what they wanted", says the commander of the Border South Central Unit Superintendent Ronen Goresh.

A suspect in his 30s was arrested and taken for further treatment and investigations at the Southern Police Central Unit.
