Justice Department clears Bracha: "no decision to launch an investigation"
Too late, the Department of Justice makes it clear that reports that it was decided to open an investigation against the late Brigadier General Ephraim Bracha – are not true, "we will clarify unambiguously that this is a blatant lie, following false reports"

We will clarify unambiguously that the report stating that it was opening an investigation against Ephraim Bracha was a blatant lie. ", Justice Ministry spokesman said in a statement.
This morning the head of the fraud squad late Brigadier General Ephraim Bracha committed suicide, with his personal weapon, ostensibly, following various reports that the Police Investigations Department has decided to launch an investigation. State Attorney's Office, issued a message this evening, stating that "this is a blatant lie."
Too late? In recent days, the PID refused to comment on the details put forward by journalist Yoav Yitzhak. According to him, an investigation was conducted at the Department of Investigation of Police following a complaint filed by Ma'ariv reporter Aviram Zino, that it was revealed to him it was decided to open a criminal investigation against Prime Minister and Sara Netanyahu. The leaks proved to be false.
The Ministry of Justice came out tonight notice; "In response to inquiries that Yoav Yitzhak said there was a decision to open an investigation against the late Brigadier General Effi Bracha, we will clarify unambiguously that this is a blatant lie, following false reports of Yitzhak on this matter.
Yoav Yitzhak's website, accused Brigadier General Ephraim Bracha in "disruption of investigation and court proceedings and investigation of bribery in relations to Ashdod Municipality; Leaking biased and fabricated information to the case related in Sarah and Prime Minister Netanyahu; Mercury illegal conduct through accounts of his brother, Meir Bracha; Leaking information about undercover investigation conducted against one of the Tax Authority, David Vanunu, and more."
Bracha headed the investigation team of the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin and the head of the investigation team dealt with the struggle between Ramat Amidar gang, led by offenders Rooney and Yossi Harari, a gang of Pardes Katz headed Hisi Hadif and murder of Yehezkel Aslan. He specialized in raising suspected witnesses. After his appointment to the head of the Fraud Squad, was charged with, among other things Gonen Segev ministerial investigations and Hirchson and Rabbi Mordechai Elon.
Three years ago, Bracha updated superiors - General Yoav Segalovich, head of investigations, Rabbi Pinto which he saw as rabbinic authority, offered him a bribe in exchange for the transfer of information on the investigation Chazon Yeshayahu which he was involved and whether he was indicted, but Bracha refused. Later, after he refused to accept the money, his wife was summoned to meet with Bracha at the suite, and is equipped with a recording documenting the transfer of an envelope containing 100 thousand Swiss francs in cash from Pinto's wife's to Bracha's wife. Rabbi's officials claimed this was personal assistance, and according to the state is not a basis for suspicion of criminal offenses on the part of Bracha. On 25th Nissan Pinto was convicted of bribing Bracha.
Towards the appointment of Bracha for the post of prime Squad filed a petition against the appointment, arguing that in another case Bracha gave false testimony that followed a legal procedure following his negligence which led to the exposure of confidential information. However, the appeal was rejected.
The late Brigadier General Ephraim Bracha (55) was a resident of Modi'in, joined the police 32 years ago for the position of youth worker drug squad Tel Aviv Central Unit.
He left the police service and returned to service again in Tishrei Tsm"t as investigator at the Tel Aviv central unit.
Since then and throughout his years he served a variety of roles in amongst them Investigations and Intelligence Central Unit Tel Aviv, Lahav 433 and Investigations and Intelligence Division.
Recent roles as head of the International Investigations Unit investigations branch, deputy head of the 433 Lahav Squad, head of investigations and Intelligence Division and was most recently the head of the National Fraud Lahav 433.
Funeral ceremony of the late Brigadier General Ephraim Bracha will be held tomorrow (Monday), at the cemetery in Modi'in at 16:00.
