MK Bezalel Smotrich of Habayit Hayehudi eulogized this afternoon (Wednesday) the Rebbe of Seret Viznitzer zt"l in the Knesset.
"I want to start with a few words on the Seret Viznitzer Rebbe, Rabbi Eliezer Hager of blessed memory, who passed away yesterday in Haifa. To understand even partially who Hrb'h Seret Viznitz we was should begin his father, the Makor Baruch, who was linked with every fiber of his soul to the process of the return to Zion. The Makor Baruch came here from Romania and chose to settle in Haifa - a city that had not excelled in religious life in those days, to say the least.
"He established Ramat Viznitz and his home has become a magnet for many people in the religious pioneers who came from Romania and settled in the north, including my grandfather, of blessed memory. The Rebbe welcomed them and made them members of the Hasidic court. In this spirit of love for Israel, his son, Rabbi Eliezer, lead the court in the last fifty years.
Spirit of approximation, the radiant face of dignity, humility and good eye who sees every Jew in the best of him and his achievements. It is well known that many devotees who are significant, would come to his house and founded glorious Hasidic court - tishim and other events. Including my family and I, in my early childhood until recent years.
Affection, tenderness, deep smile, penetrating gaze radiated so much love and fear of God, electrifying touch of a gentle hand was wrapped around my hand warmly - all of which would fill the batteries and provide power. I would like to give condolences to his followers here the Seret Viznitz community, who loved their teacher with endless love and probably mourn and weep very much now.
