Ten days ago, on Friday, during a military operation in the village of A-Ram, near Ramallah, youths began throwing rocks and stones at the car of Benjamin Brigade Commander Colonel Yisrael Shummer and his team.
The brigade commander, who was on his way to the Qalandiya crossing, felt threatened after his car window was shattered, got out and unloaded his gun. As a result, one of the boys named Mohammed Ali Kosiba was seriously injured. He was evacuated to the Ramallah hospital where he died of his wounds.

The IDF said that the brigade commander who feared for his life, implemented standard procedures, during which he shot the boy. There were no casualties among soldiers. As a result of the stones which were hurled, the windshield of the brigade's vehicle was shattered.
Central Command chief Gen. Roni Numa, came to the scene and said that after initial debriefing "the brigade worked as expected. I back him fully at functioning at the event, which posed a real threat to the force's life ".
