A group of Hasidic yeshiva students in Jerusalem went into the Dead Sea, but plans were disrupted slightly after drifting away from the beach.
Megillot rescue unit of the Judea and Samaria District Police received a call at 20:20 that the four men aged 30-40 drifted away in a boat, and two of them who swam had lost contact with them.
The first report, delivered by one of the yeshiva students, who held a phone in the boat, and reported that he and three friends walked away from the shore, they left the boat and began to swim towards the shore. However, during which they lost eye contact with two of their friends.
The police alerted the rescue unit of Megillot and 15 volunteers went out and with a private boat went into the water to rescue the two yeshiva students who were on the boat.
A police helicopter, two military helicopters and the sector commander also came to the area, and air forces helped locate the other two as well as a team of Ein Gedi rescue unit of the Southern District Police joined for assistance.
The first two extracted yeshiva, said that they settled on an inflatable boat with their backs to the shore, and after a while noticed that they were far from the shore. According to them, they did not intend to sail at sea.
After an hour or so two yeshiva students were rescued to Mineral Beach, and even later identified the other two as they are in good condition and on the boat and were rescued by members of the rescue unit Megillot.
Dead Sea cruise is different to a regular cruise, in all respects: wind, water weight, streams, and is considered difficult.
