"Attacks of 'Gav Ha'umah' are disgrace to Israeli public"

Following exceptional and offensive statements in the program 'Gav Ha'umah' (Back of the Nation), on Channel 10, in particular against the Haredi sector and against Judaism in general, Deputy Minister of Education says to Behadrey Haredim: "It's impossible that a major news channel might allow itself to attack and trample the holies of Judaism for the lust of ratings"

"Attacks of 'Gav Ha'umah' are disgrace to Israeli public"

After a series of harsh expressions against religion and Judaism in general and against the Haredi sector in particular, public officials have come out strongly condemning the TV show 'Gav Ha'umah', a weekly broadcast on Channel 10 which has high ratings.

In the program, the emcee and panelists repeatedly show contempt for observance of Mitzvos, and provide statements that one cannot bring to record against rabbis, and even worse, G-d forbid.

Deputy Minister of Education, MK Meir Porush, said to Behadrey Haredim, "The repeated attacks in the program Gav Ha'umah on Channel 10, in the guise of satire, against religion and faith in general and against the Haredi public and the Rabbinate in particular, are a disgrace and an insult to the entire Israeli public".

According to Porush, "no major news channel may allow itself to attack and trample the holy assets of Judaism for lust of rating."
