Opposition leader Yitzhak Herzog reacted to the attack on his Twitter account: "I wish a full and quick recovery to the soldier who was wounded in the attack tonight. There is no compromise against terror and I said that even to Abu Mazen yesterday. Whoever harms Israelis – will pay the full price. The situation is deteriorating with a sequence of events and without a drastic change, we may find ourselves in a third Intifada which would be a serious consequence of Zero initiative and political stagnation."

Deputy Defense Minister Rabbi Eli Ben-Dahan commented that "the attack carried out tonight proves that the Palestinians are working to build a Palestinian state free of Jews. The High Court's decision earlier this evening gave the Palestinians proof that one can beat us with terror and hunger strikes. The Supreme Court's ruling threatens the security of Israel. Surrendering to blackmail of a single prisoner is giving a prize to terror and will only result in mass hunger strikes of prisoners".

This is not the first terrorist incident today - tonight Arab rioters threw stones at Israeli vehicles on Highway 45 between Atarot Junction and Benzion interchange, from the Israeli Palestinian side. Two vehicles were damaged.

One of the passengers, a little girl of one year and eight months, was lightly injured from glass shards, was taken independently by her father to Shaarei Tzedek Hospital, where she was treated and released. Another driver was hit in the shoulder but did not need to be evacuated. The police transferred the request to the IDF to perform a search to locate the stone-throwers.

Earlier today a policeman was lightly injured from throwing of a Molotov cocktail at him during a confrontation in Issawiya, masked men threw stones and Molotov cocktails at police and Border police Issawiya.
