The Labor Court upheld the strike of the Airports Authority employees this morning (Sunday) determined in solidarity with the employees of the IBA.

The parties agreed to the Court's proposal that from 10:00 to 12:00 am headquarters staff and offices at the Airport Authority will be allowed to strike. Shift workers will strike for half an hour from 11:30 to 12:00 am.

"The fact that the Court did not give an order against the strike speaks for itself and I hope that the message will reach those to which it should, to avoid laying off 1,500 employees of the Broadcasting Authority," said Mr. Pinhas Idan, chairman of the Airport Authority employees.

As recalled, following the announcement of the strike, Minister of Transport Israel Katz turned to the Chairman of the Airport Authority Employee Union and demanded that they immediately end the strike planned for this Sunday.

Katz said - "I see severely the disproportionate use of the strike weapon, I will not allow a situation where passengers will become hostages to different ends. Solidarity among workers is legitimate, but not when it severely harms passengers and the Authority's activity".
