Shots were fired this morning (Wednesday) at a car carrying two nurses on their way to Ma'ayanei Hayeshua Hospital in Bnei Brak. Except for damage to the vehicle, the passengers are sound and safe.

As soon as the shooting at the vehicle started, the driver, a resident of Yitzhar, continued driving to the Tapuach intersection, where an ambulance of the Samaria Regional Council awaited them. The injured received treatment on the spot by a team of volunteers and was not taken to hospital. There is fire damage on the vehicle.

The driver said that they went through Hawara towards Tapuach junction and saw a crowd of people: "Suddenly we felt a hit, boom. My friend next to me started screaming that she was hit in her back. My car is armored against stones and at first I thought it was a stone but as soon as she said it hurt her, I realized it was gunfire.

"I was going fast towards the Tapuach junction while in the meantime I'm reporting and holding her. When I saw there was no blood, I realized that the bullet did not hit her."
It should be noted that a year ago, this same driver experienced a lynch attempt in the same area which she miraculously survived.

Shomron Regional Council head Yossi Dagan said following the attack: "The government did not replace the disc towards the lawlessness of human life. The attack is a clear result of the incompetence and lawlessness policy of the government.

"The Authority terrorists know how to read the lack of backing to the soldiers and civilians being attacked with stones, in the event that one reacts with fire, and the government's appeasement to stone terror and Molotov cocktails. The Israeli government must mindset towards anarchy of human life. This morning was a miracle but we are not willing to continue to rely on a miracle.

"The prime minister should order this morning on the start of construction of a bypass road to Hawara, not as a response to terrorism but as an elemental step which is prompted. Terrorism will be defeated only by determined war and by the settlement drive."
