Haifa mourns: Rabbi Chaim Naftali Weissblum

Baruch Dayan Ha'emes: from Haifa comes the bitter news of the death of Hagaon Rabbi Chaim Naftali Weissblum zt"l, Rabbi of the city community of Neve Sha'anan neighborhood, at the age of 83.

Recently, he had been ill and was hospitalized at Ma'ayanei HaYeshua hospital in Bnei Brak, where he returned his soul to its Creator.

The deceased zt"l was born in Haifa to his parents Rabbi Yaakov Yitzchak Weissblum and his mother Mrs. Hannah Shoshana, who were descendants of Gur and of the Noam Elimelech of Liz'ansk zt"l.

His brother is Hagaon Rabbi Uri Weissblum, mashgiach of Nachlas Halevi'im Yeshiva in Haifa.

For over fifty years he served in the rabbinate in Haifa's Neve Sha'anan neighborhood and was appointed on the area's Eiruv by the religious council.

He was the son-in-law of the Rebbe of Slonim and his brother- in-law is the Rebbe of Tolna.

The funeral will leave tomorrow (Sunday) at 9:00 am from the Beis Midrash in Haifa's Neve Sha'anan neighborhood to the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem - where he will be buried.

May his soul be bound in the bond of life.
