A terrorist arrived at the central bus station in Jerusalem, and attacked by stabbing a woman standing there who wanted to get on the bus. The driver acted very resourcefully, allowed the wounded on the bus and prevented the entry of the terrorist.

The terrorist escaped, a riot officer who spotted him - shot him dead. The police conducted searches on suspicion of the existence of another terrorist, the Central Station building was evacuated and riot fighters conducted extensive searches in nearby buildings, but ultimately denied the suspicion.

The woman, 72 years old, was moderately to severely wounded, and evacuated to the Shaare Zedek Hospital in the city.

MDA volunteer Dr. Yoni Alstein who was there said, "On the bus, next to the driver, a woman in her seventies was sitting fully conscious and suffering from a stab wound in her upper body, we gave her emergency treatment and then evacuated her to the hospital when her condition is moderate to severe."

Zeev Kashash, Chairman of Ichud Hatzalah, said: "Together with the volunteers we arrived from the Ichud Hatzalah offices nearby, within seconds to the scene. To conclude the event, a victim who was stabbed in her upper body was treated inside a bus. We also treated several civilians who were lightly injured after fleeing in panic into the central bus station and nearby stores as a result of hearing gunshots. The volunteers searched to locate people suffering from anxiety and gave first aid to civilians some of whom were evacuated to the hospital."

MDA paramedic Emanuel Stern who vacated the injured woman said: "inside the bus at the first seat was a 72-year-old woman who was sitting while fully conscious, along with our volunteer doctor, we gave her a life-saving medical treatment, she suffered a stab wound on her upper body and was urgently evacuated to a hospital, on the way to hospital she was alert and communicated with us."

Yehuda Meshi Zahav, ZAKA Chairman, said: "We received the report and ran on foot from the ZAKA headquarters building located near the central station. I entered the arena with ZAKA team and took care of the wounded. The terrorist was killed on the spot by a Border Guard officer. After evacuating of casualties, the Jerusalem ZAKA team evacuated the terrorist's body in a black bag. We are in a very difficult time period. Volunteers are running from one scene of attack to another. Our teams are deployed throughout the country ".

Deputy District Commander, Brigadier General Avshalom Peled, praised the police officer and said: "Again the quick response, professionalism and determination led to the rapid conclusion of the event and to prevent harm to innocent people. The results of the operational deployment alongside the determination and dedication of the officers are seen in each event, whether prevention of the attack as happened two hours before at the Damascus gate or a few seconds from the occurrence of the event to neutralizing the terrorist".
