New York officials, "Mayor has time for Palestinians but not for us?"

New York Mayor Bill de Blasio, who arrived for a visit to Israel on Friday, gets a sharp attack on the part of activists in New York.

According to an article in The New York Times Bill de Blasio plans to also visit Palestinian officials and will meet with representatives of the Palestinian Authority. However, his companions deny it.

One of the activists who spoke with Behadrey Hareidim criticizes the mayor about it and says: "This timing, in which the mayor chose to make his trip, is not in place. What's more, when Bill de Blasio was running for mayor, he promised us when he is elected he will come to visit Haredi neighborhoods at least a hundred times. In reality since the election two years ago, he did not come to Boro Park or Williamsburg only twice, and even then it was for fundraising for him.

The angry activist continues: "We thought maybe the mayor has no time to come to visit us and see what one can improve in our neighborhood, but suddenly he has the time to go visit the Palestinians, but to visit our neighborhood he doesn't come."

Generally, activists expressed frustration at all the mayor's behavior toward the Haredim in the city, "he is behaving with us like we're not the people who elected him and thanks to us he was elected".

On the other hand, Haredi functionaries who are the mayor's aides deny that and say to Behadrey Haredim: "De Blasio will not meet with the Palestinians and not with Abbas, he will visit the Western Wall, Yad Vashem and meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. In the evening he will return to New York".
