After the storm: the German department store, the largest in Europe, "Ka-De-We" apologized today (Sunday) for the removal of Israeli products from its shelves, and announced their return.
In a special message posted on Facebook, the store which is located in Berlin announced, "We regret that this erroneous behavior led to misunderstanding, we wish to apologize for it."
A few days ago the one-stop store took down from its shelves eight types of wine produced in the Golan Heights and the West Bank, following the EU's decision to mark products from the settlements and the Golan Heights.
The management of the place said that "we have removed the products from the shelves. After labeling according to guidelines, we return them to the stock."
This caused a major storm and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed his acute protest at the issue. He demanded that the German government intervenes. Pressure, apparently, was fruitful.
The department store is the largest of its kind in Europe. It was founded by Jewish businessmen, over a century ago and suffered persecution from the Nazis. Today it is owned by a Thai company.
