Father of soldier Ziv Mizrahi HYD: "Yimach shemam enemies of Israel, Am Yisrael Chai"

At the funeral of soldier Corporal Ziv Mizrahi HYD, who was murdered yesterday (Monday), at the Dor Alon gas station on Route 443, his father Doron Mizrahi gave a moving eulogy.

In his speech he said: "Yimach shemam the enemies of Israel, Am Yisrael Chai, it won't help you, you'll not break our spirit. 12 years ago I lost my brother, I thought I had paid the price. I am a bereaved brother, we are a bereaved family, I've finished."

"Today I'm also bereaved father, but you won't break our spirit. We'll weep, we'll mourn for a week. I'm telling you, next Wednesday - I'm at work. You will not break our spirit, it's our country, Am Yisrael Chai".

"Ziv, my son, like an angel. We are a brave family. My brother Alon could have escaped or run away. He exploded with the terrorist, he saved dozens of people, and now I understand."

"I asked his commanders, could it be that a terrorist approached him from behind, stabbed him and that's how it ended? They told me no. Ziv saved his officer, Ziv shot the terrorist when he was with a knife in the heart. This is Ziv, Hero of Israel. We are a strong family and a strong nation, we will cope".

In the attack which occurred yesterday shortly after 15:00 pm, the terrorist Ahmed Jamal Ahmad Taha arrived at the gas station with a knife and stabbed Ziv HYD in his upper body. Ziv was seriously injured and after resuscitation he was pronounced dead, the terrorist went on to stab an officer in the IDF and injured her lightly in her hand. The terrorist, resident of a small village near Har Adar, was shot dead by security forces and was pronounced dead at once.
