Storm: "Obama has brought in radical Islam"

Former US ambassador to Israel, MK Michael Oren said today (Saturday) that "Obama was influenced by his Islamic background".
During a cultural Shabbat in Beersheba, Oren said: 'It is the first time that values of radical Muslims came into the White House. Obama was exposed the Muslim world and its values. Obama would never take this term out his mouth - radical Islam or militant Islamists, because he defines those who belong to this world. He reaches out to the Muslim world but is far from Israeli policies."
Following the uproar caused by his words, Oren issued a statement: "Today in an interview in a "cultural Shabbat" in Be'er Sheva, I was asked to explain the world view of President Obama. His worldview was shaped among others, in his youth by his contact with Islam - a touch that he himself testified about in his books and was influenced by the mood on American campuses.
"The outreach to the Muslim world, the aversion of using military force and the lack of differentiation between building in the French Hill of Itamar was a challenge for any Israeli government.
"Importantly," he added, "I also praised the close security cooperation between Israel and the US led by Obama. It is our obligation to recognize the right of any government to formulate a world view different from ours. I reject outright the argument that I attacked President Obama - there is a cynical attempt to make headlines from an open-eyed and responsible analysis".
