Shaare Zedek hospital said that the condition of the 40-year-old stabbed in an attack today (Sunday) nearby Maarat Hamachpelah in Hebron is critical and there is immediate danger to his life.

At around 15:45, the terrorist Shafiq Ghaith, a resident of the city – arrived at the shuttle station, near the Tomb of the Patriarchs, and began to stab an Israeli citizen who was at the station, in his upper body. Border Policemen who were in a check post located nearby, noticed what was happening, quickly sought to touch, and performed accurate shooting until the elimination of the terrorist.

Dr. Ofer Merin, director of the trauma ward, reports that the stabbed has several stab wounds in the heart and both lungs. The patient came out of surgery a short time ago and was transferred to Intensive Care.
Sergeants A., M. and A. reconstructed the event from the moment they heard the screams and realized that this was a terrorist attack until the neutralization.

"I and the fighters who were with me in the post heard the cries and realized immediately that it was a terrorist attack and we have seconds to stop the terrorist before other civilians were hurt, we ran to him and identified the terrorist as he leant over the settler, I pushed him, and we fired accurately at him until he fell to the ground. What remains now is to pray and to hope for the patient's recovery," said Sergeant A.

Please pray for the injured: Chaim ben Ra'aya Rachel for complete recovery.
