Tens of thousands of eggs were seized across the country

Two private cars making their way in the Afula area near the Megiddo junction, were detained for inspection by inspectors of the central unit of enforcement and investigations of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, having aroused the suspicions of inspectors of the ministry, as they seemed laden with goods, and therefore were slowly moving, suspiciously.
In the check suspicions turned out to be justified - in the two vehicles were around 10,650 contraband eggs were discovered, which are prohibited for marketing without the sorting station's signature which indicates veterinary supervision. In addition, the eggs were transported in private cars without refrigeration and without a health certificate.
Initial investigation of the smugglers, residents of Magdal al- Krum, in the their 20s, it was found that the eggs were intended for marketing in Carmiel. An investigation was opened against the smugglers, and the eggs were transferred for destruction.
At the same time, based on intelligence information, Poultry Council inspectors seized 16,800 eggs hidden in a Savannah car, in the oil tanker. The eggs, originating in the territories of the Palestinian Authority, were seized at the Hizma checkpoint near Jerusalem, and hidden behind the "set masquerading" of a tanker for the transport of oil. Even in this case, the eggs were unsigned by the sorting station which indicates veterinary supervision. Against the smuggler, a resident of Beit Hanina, an investigation was opened, and the eggs were transferred for destruction.
Since the beginning of the year there were 126 cases of smuggling of eggs in the Palestinian Authority areas into Israel, followed by over a million eggs being destroyed.
