Kfar Chabad presents: Shofar of the Rebbe
Special issue ahead of 'Book Holiday', covering the Chabad magazine's long association with the revered Lubavitcher Rebbe zt"l

'Kfar Chabad', the Chabad official magazine in Israel and abroad, surprised its readers with an amazing supplement issue toward 5th Tevet (known in Chabad as the "Books Holiday" because of the victory of Chabad in the case which took place almost thirty years ago), 'The Shofar' - behind the scenes of the relationship that the Lubavitcher Rebbe gave the newspaper.
The supplement presents, for the first time, all the selected chapters dealing in the rare and unique relationship which the Rebbe gave 'Kfar Chabad' over many years. The supplement comes with the magazine and was distributed in tens of thousands of free copies at concentrations of Chabad, and can now be read online too.
Among the supplement pages, the editor Rabbi Aharon Dov Halperin, relates his memoirs of the fascinating relationship with the Rebbe and his secretaries, a contact which influenced the content published in the newspaper. If there is a solid line connecting the memoirs, it is the great responsibility which the editor felt for every word published in the newspaper, a responsibility which exists, he claims, to this day.
This bonus is part of a large campaign to subscribers of Kfar Chabad. As part of the campaign, video clips that document the relationship of the Rebbe and the newspaper were exposed as well. In one clip, the Rebbe is heard during the Hisvaadus instructing Rabbi Simcha Elberg from the United States to give an interview to Kfar Chabad.
