The popular haredi minister speaks: After winning first place in 2 new surveys of public satisfaction, Litzmann reates that he reads the general media and reveals that his mother did not regret his not having become a talmid chochom.
In an interview to Kalkalist, Minister Litzmann was asked if he cares what they write about him in the secular press, and said, "I read the secular media every day, clearly so. But the truth is that my public does not read it, so sometimes when they attack me it does not mean anything."
And why does he care?
"Because I do not like it when people write things that are not true. I never have a problem with criticism. But when they write things that are not true, of course it bothers me."
In the interview he was asked a personal question too: Why did not you become a talmid chacham? Were your parents not upset?
"I guess I did not succeed enough in studies. Today Mom and Dad are gone, but when I went to the Knesset, my mother was still alive for a while, and I do not think she was disappointed. She never asked me why I needed it. She knew it was not my decision, that I get the appointment from Rabbis".
