About five hours after stabbing the soldier in Ashkelon – which was apparently racially motivated - the stabbing suspect, who was shot by a friend of the soldier after a chase, died of his wounds.
The terrorist's name is Kamal Hassan, 32.
At the Barzilai Medical Center in Ashkelon died the suspect who was shot by a soldier and a civilian who were chasing him, soon after he attacked the 20-year-old soldier and wounded him lightly. This is a 32-year-old Sudanese man, who lived in the city of Ashkelon.

As recalled, a soldier was stabbed yesterday morning (Sunday) on Ben Gurion street in Ashkelon. The soldier sustained minor to moderate injury and the attacker fled. He was found, shot and neutralized in a nearby street. It seems that the stabbing was nationalistically motivated.
"We arrived within a minute at the scene and we understood this is a foreign subject who stabbed a soldier at a bus stop," said Chief Superintendent Shimon Portal of the Ashkelon police. "A soldier and two civilians were chasing him and one should note that it was a long chase after the stabber, at the end of which the soldier shot him. At that point, we were on the scene, taking control of the perpetrator. We want to finish the investigation and we will post orderly. We still do not know his identity."
The soldier who neutralized the perpetrator was on a bus and saw a part of the event. He noticed the attacker fled. He grabbed the gun of the stabbed soldier, took a stack from another soldier then began to chase him with two other civilians. We saw part of the chase, and I emphasize again the hunt was long. He hit and slowed down the stabber who on his part continued to escape, the soldier overtook him and neutralized him completely. We have evidence of the soldier who saw the perpetrator as he was taken in hospital and he recognized him as being the one who stabbed him."
"The patient did not cooperate, he was not talking," said an Ashkelon police portal. "He was lying on the floor, muttering incoherent sentences in Arabic and did not speak with the police."
