Will Haredim agree to casino in Eilat?

Will the mayor of Eilat be able to remove the Haredi opposition to the casino in his city?
Following opposition of the religious parties to establish a casino in Eilat, Eilat Mayor Meir Yitzhak Halevi suggests to make Eilat an "ex-territory", thereby removing the opposition, to his claims.
Speaking to Nahum Barnea of Yediot Ahronot, Halevy said: "Some Haredim say that Eilat is outside the borders of the land of Israel. In the land of Israel it is forbidden, outside it is permitted. Eilat can be turned into extraterritorial and allow gambling in it. In Canada they went on a similar patent".
As recalled, last Wednesday the religious parties attacked the initiative promoted by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, on the establishment of a casino.
Shas party's opposition is resolute: "Casinos in Israel will serve only the tycoons, the owners of capital and cause serious damage to the disadvantaged", they said, "Studies conducted worldwide have determined that those affected by casinos, who lost their property and caused the destruction of families are lower class people. Shas represents Israel's poor and the weaker sectors, working for them, and so it will vehemently oppose the establishment of a casino. Casinos will only destroy families and cause serious harm to those who do not have.'
Finance Committee chairman MK Gafni announced that Torah Judaism always opposed the establishment of a casino and will also do so in the present.
According to Gafni: "A casino is the destruction of society, it causes crime and breaks down families, we will not allow this, Torah Judaism has always opposed this."
It should be noted that Yesh Atid and the Jewish Home announced their opposition to the plan as well.
