At the end of a meeting of the Council of Torah Sages, it was decided not to focus on the specific case of the Wall plaza, but to comprehensively attack the Reform movement's attempts to infiltrate to Israel and the Holy Land and the close relationship with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu

After more than two hours, a meeting of the Council of Torah Sages of Agudath Israel which convened today (Wednesday) ended, attended by the great Rebbes at the 'Executive Committee' on Shomer Hakotel Street in Jerusalem. Top of the agenda of the Council was the threat of the Reform, after the latter raised their head in the Holy Land recently, which is expressed among other things, in the issue of immersion in mikvehs and the Reform Wall plaza.
To this end, the Western Wall Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, was invited to the meeting to review to the Rebbes the compromise achieved, when he was accompanied by the party's MKs: Minister Litzmann, Deputy Minister Porush, Moses and Eichler.
Behadrey Haredim learned that the Council of Torah Sages is expected to come out strongly against the Reform movement and the proximity of the Prime Minister to the Reform community, which makes the 'Reform problem', that until now American Jews have suffered from, into a problem in Israel as well. But the decision will not to attack the outline at the Western Wall, which was reached, as recalled, according to a route outlined by Harav Elyashiv zt"l, as a "lesser evil".
Two Hassidic Rebbes expressed their personal opposition to the compromise and said that they fear it will lead to the deterioration of other planes, and open the door for recognition of the Reform movement in Israel. But the very fact that Rabbi of the Wall was invited, as we first revealed in Behadrei Haredim, teaches about the backup which the Council of Torah Sages provides Rabbi Rabinowitz. In recent days, Rabbi Rabinowitz visited the homes of the Rebbes of Slonim, Tzanz, Belz, Boyan and Sadigura.
It appears that, as part of the planned offensive, the Wall plaza topic will not be mentioned as this is a purely technical fight, and as revealed in the past in Behadrey Haredim at length, the Rebbes decided that the Wall alone does not reflect the whole struggle against the Reform, since the Reform problem is broad, as we have seen in the case of the outrageous law suit of the Court concerning mikvehs. The struggle is the movement entering Israel and the national recognition it desires.
At the end of the meeting Gedolei Yisroel discussed the matter, and then the party's MKs returned to discuss the "independence of the Haredi education."
The meeting was attended by council members the Rebbes of Gur, Belz, Viznitz, Tzanz, Boyan, Slonim, Biala, Sadigura, and the Rebbe of Seret Viznitz who recently joined the Council of Torah Sages. The young Viznitzer Rebbe and the Rebbe of Modzitz are currently staying abroad, and thus were absent from the meeting.
