Terror in Jerusalem: One Israeli seriously wounded today (Wednesday) in a shooting attack near the Damascus Gate in the capital.
The terror spree began when two terrorists seen near the bus pulled out weapons at the Ramot Junction in northern Jerusalem. A man at the scene shot at their vehicle and they fled the scene. Rescue services arrived at the scene and treated one individual who was lightly wounded. A number of people were treated for shock as well.
A large number of police forces began searching for the vehicle that fled the scene.
The terrorists’ car managed to reach Rechov Hazanchanim where they recognized a police presence and attempted another shooting attack. The police forces at the scene shot and killed the terrorists. A bystander belonging to a minority population was seriously wounded and was evacuated to Haddasah’s Mount Scopus hospital.


MDA paramedic Mohammed Abdel Rahman said: "We saw a semi-conscious man of about 50, he suffered a penetrating injury to the upper body. We gave him life-saving medical treatment and quickly evacuated him to the hospital in serious condition. We had to intubate him under anesthesia en route to the hospital."
ZAKA volunteer Natan Koenig who arrived on the scene of the second attempted attack said: "I received a call from Zaka headquarters of a shooting attack on Rechov Hazanchanim in the capital and came straight away. When we arrived we found a seriously injured bystander, and along with other volunteers provided first aid, the wounded was evacuated by MDA and received medical treatment during transport to Hadassah hospital on Mount Scopus. We remained at the scene and wrapped the terrorists in black bags. Police have now reopened the area. “

There were reports earlier of a car opening fire on a bus at the Ramot Junction and a manhunt for the fleeing vehicle. Large numbers of police forces as well as MDA and Zaka were dispatched to the area, but no casualties were identified apart from one Bachur who was lightly wounded whle attempting to run escape harm.
Sarah, who was travelling on that bus to Galei Zahal that a suspicious vehicle pulled over at the side, and the bus that arrived at the bus stop passed it, "They shot in all directions . People on the bus were screaming terrorists terrorists! We were a very full bus. No one was hurt but there were amny who were traumatized. "
Police deployed roadblocks to stop the vehicle. As mentioned above, the vehicle was found after a hunt near the New Gate and from there shots were fired.
Meanwhile, an attempted stabbing took place at a temporary checkpoint that was set up at the al-Zawiay bridge on Route 5 , in response to security warnings. A terrorist tried to stab a soldier, was shot and liquidated, there were no Israeli casualties.
