The Day Before he Died- He Prepared a Shiur and Told his Son that his Tefillin were Ready

A large crowd accompanied the Goan Harav Eliezer Yehuda Man zt”l, Magid Shiur in Yeshivas Divrei Mordechai. He was in his fifties.
The first maspid was an uncle of the niftar, Hagoan Reb Moshe Hillel Hirsh, Rosh Yeshivas Slobodka, He said that he doesn’t remember one another time when 3 disseminators of Torah died in one day, “I went from funeral to funeral to funeral.”
During the funeral those who were maspid spoke about how he had been sick for 4 years without anyone knowing. They only recently told his father in law to spare him form suffering.
Yesterday he told his 12 year old son that his Tefilin were ready. The family members relate that, ”Yesterday morning he learned with a chavrusa the shiur he was planning on giving over in Yeshivas Mordechai- on “Hashoel” in Mesechtas Baba Meztia, at this point we will be giving over his shiur up in Heaven”, they lamented.
Harav Shachar told of the time that they saw him exert himself to pick up a paper that he wasn’t even sure was shiemos- when they asked him about it he said,” if you had a doubt that it was perhaps a $100- wouldn’t you pick it up?”
