On Shabbos morning the Israeli Police began a crime prevention initiative in Givat Shmuel, during which they noticed a vehicle escaping the checkpoint they set up at the exit to Givat Shmuel. The police gave chase after the vehicle while calling to the vehicle to stop numerous times.
During the chase the car entered highway 4 at the Eim Hamoshavot Interchange against the flow of traffic. The car narrowly avoided hitting the cat opposite him which caused the police car to collide with a civilian vehicle. There were a number of injuries.
