Yaffa Deri: “We Survived Pharaoh, We Survived Haman”
In response to the news that Areyh Deri is under scrutiny for corruption, his wife Yaffa Deri responded, “We survived Pharaoh, we survived Haman, we’re in a great month.” Deri’s advisor said,” many journalists have investigated this and found nothing. I recommend we all wait [and not jump to conclusions]. There are those who would be happy to see Deri fall.”

Barak Seri, Deri’s PR consultant said this morning in an interview to Galei Tzahal,” We are in shock. This is not an investigation it is just a check. I recommend we all wait.
“Two days ago Amit Segal called me and told me that one of the networks is checking into this. There was total shock- for both of us. Both Deri and I were equally shocked. I work alongside Deri all the time. I travel with him, work with him. Nothing’s going on. He has no idea what this is all about. He is not aware of any investigation
.
“The rumor mill is working overtime, that’s why Deri asked to have the gag order on releasing his name removed. He has approached the media directly and requested of them not to help the spread of rumors. ‘It’s business as usual by us,’ he said
.
“Say what you want about Deri- but he is no fool. He is careful. He knows he is under a magnifying glass and that there are those who would like to see him fall.
“I sat with him yesterday, he is very calm. We released a statement in the middle of the night that he is willing to be investigated. He is prepared to answer any questions posed to him. I hope that an investigation will be done shortly which will enlighten us as to what we are talking about
.”
In an interview with Galei Tzahal former MK Nissim Ze’ev said,”All of us are under suspicion at all times.” He asked the public not to jump to conclusions about Deri
.
Ayelet Shaked also asked everyone to calm down. “I heard about this just like everyone else- through the media. The point of checking this out is in order to see if there is reason for an investigation.”
