Pindrus: “We are the ones responsible for the chillul Shabbos.”
In a letter to the religious and Charedi city council members, Pindrus; Degel Hatorah’s representative in the city council cries out against the public Shabbos desecration in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Kiryat Yovel.

Pindrus cries out about the ongoing chilul Shabbos supported by the municipality of Jerusalem. He described the outrageous chillul shabbos in the neighborhood’s community building and movie screening, and wonders – “till when will we remain silent? “The neighborhood Rav and a group of avreichim went out to protest, but there was no reaction from the city’s municipality. The public desecrations continued in the community centers as well. These centers are under the Jerusalem municipal jurisdiction which is the one allowing this to happen. And I must ask – how could this be? In a city council with a majority of religious members, how could this be happening without anyone crying out?”
He concluded by saying that the responsibility couldn’t be placed on anyone else. By not protesting they have become the ones to blame.
