The Vishnitizer Rebbe announces,” This year I will burn non- kosher Smartphones with the chometz. Whoever has such a phone in their house should bring it to me- even if they need it for their parnasah. I promise them double the amount of parnasah.”

Serafas chometz version 2016: The Vishnitzer Rebbe has announced that he will conduct a public burning of Smartphones along with the burning of chometz this year.
Vishnitzer Chassdim from all over the country gathered around their Rebbe this past Shabbos Hagadol to mark the yarzeit of the Imrei Chaim. During the tishim the Rebbe said Divrei Torah and told of stories from the times he spent with the Imrei Chaim. Thus he showed honor to the elder Vishnitz Chasidim as well as to the descendants of the Imrei Chaim.
During seudas shlishis the Rebbe mentioned Smartphones. He surprised his chassdim by announcing: “this year I will burn all such phones that I have received throughout the year from those who have taken it upon themselves to rid themselves of them. Anyone who still has such a phone in his possession should quickly bring it to me for this event- even if he needs it for his parnasah. I promise him that he will have tremendous parnasah- double what he had from this gadget.
