Rivlin Visited Reb Chaim, For the Sake of Achdus
Israeli President Rivlin went to visit Harav Chaim Kanievsky shlita to receive his Bracha in advance of Pesach.

President Rivlin went this evening to visit Harav Chaim Kanievsky in his home on Rechov Rashbam, accompanied by the deputy mayor of Beitar Illit, Yitzchak Ravitz.
Rivlin told the Rav that he had come to receive a bracha before the chag as he did 7 years earlier. Rivlin also told the Rav that he is a descendant of Reb Hillel from Vilna, a brother of the Vilan Goan. He asked if the Rav knew of his relative and Harav Chaim answered in the affirmative.
Rivlin finished off saying, “ I came to receive a bracha from the most prominent leader of charedi Jewry in Israel and abroad, for the sake of unity amongst the Jewish People.
Bchadrei Charedim has learned that the visit had been planned a few days ago and was cleared with the Degel Hatorah Knesset Members.
